Tacabella’s BackstoryAssuming you came from the website ‘tacabella.com’, you came for my backstory.
There's nothing wrong with that, but to get the best experience you may want to sit back and relax, for this is quite the story. Enjoy.
1 - Early daysSo there I was, on captain caviar’s ship, enjoying my day serving the 72nd cup of tea to one of the crewmates. Of course this wasn't the best place to be, but it kept me alive when I was young. So as I was saying, I was in the kitchen getting some jasmine tea samples when my friend Battobarny stepped in. He had the same job as me, just that he was serving different people. He was getting some scones ready for someone in the kitchen, so we talked for a second. Soon enough, they were done and he went on with his day. “One-eyed Jasmine” he used to call me when I was serving tea. Oh yeah, forgot to mention, I only have one eye. A spider crab stabbed it. Anyways, I was walking out when I bumped into someone. “Hello Tac,what are you doing over here? I came looking for you.” I was shocked, even for me. It was captain caviar! He never came to the crewmate's lunch rooms. “Has nobody told you yet?” He had asked me. “Asked me what??” I screeched as I realized I was probably in trouble. “I had offered Battobarny a deal, but he decided he would pass the offer to you. I said that if he could defeat the beast in the basement, he could be promoted to a crewmate.” I sat there in disbelief for a good minute. {How could he have passed up that offer?} I thought. {Did he really want me to have this chance?} I thought of every possible explanation on why he could have given it to me, but it made no sense. But of course, this was the best thing I had ever heard in my life besides “I'll spare you if you work for me” so I took the offer. He gave me proper attire for slaying a beast, and he showed me where multiple people had disappeared on the ship. The basement. I shuddered at the thought of entering the pitch black darkness of the sunlight starved basement of the ship, but I had no choice if I didn't want to spend the rest of my life as a slave.2 - The fightLittle did I know that the upcoming day would be the most important moment of my history ever. I tried to sleep the best i could in my prison cell, but knowing i could be sleeping on a real bed in just a day made me the happiest girl on gorilla tagia.
In the morning, I got myself dressed, made some scones for breakfast, and headed to the captain’s room. Soon enough, I was standing face to face with the basement, AKA my future. I went down the stairway that seemed to be a million miles long, the whole way being long and dark while I was shaking with anticipation. Would I die trying to slay this beast? Would I be successful and become a crewmate on the ship? Only time could tell. As I got to the bottom, I lit my lantern once again and inspected the old washroom. There was mold on the walls, and the entire room reeked of rotten stenches. Once I had found nothing on the first side of the room, I started with the other. Once I was almost done, I heard a faint whisper. I couldn’t make out much at first, just that it was being repeated, but I soon realized whatever this thing was, it was repeating “ C̵̺̿̏ǒ̵̥̣͍͎̭̰̯̩m̸̡͙̰̿͆̔͠ẹ̶̼͎̣̘͍̰́̽̀̀̀ͅ ̸͈͈̼̫͎̯̟̿̉̊͋͐͋c̵͍͇̘͖̥̒̅͐̄͒̄̕͠ḷ̴̹͇̱͛͒̂̈͘o̵͍̟̣͆͑̒̎s̶̪̮̜̦̺̱̀͆̓e̶̢̡̺̪̯̒r̵̮͆͗̔̔̈̾” to me. Soon enough, I saw a distorted figure moving around in the corner of the room, I swung with my sword at it but it was no use. It dodged the sword like liquid, and didn’t get hit once. I kept fighting against it, trying to stay alive but it worked at the very least. As soon as I realized this would be my fate, I could make out a figure. It had bat wings, a long cloak, and tall horns. As I could almost make out what it was, it lunged at me. I felt the worst sharp pain right below my missing eye, And then I blacked out.
3 - The BeginningsI woke up, and my head was pounding. I was in an unfamiliar area, but it looked like a cave. There were crystals everywhere, but I didn't get too distracted before I got a memory of .. something. It was a distant figure that started screeching at me.
“I woke up.. I̴͇͖͌͐t̵̩͐͑ ̴̱̤̪̕h̶͙̓̎̃ű̴͉͝r̸̹̩͗̿͝t̵̞̹͓̓̀s̴̛̬͕̮̐̚.̴̰̮́̚.̴̧͚̹̓. The p̴̝̻͑͑ą̸͈̰̽̈́į̶͓̕n̵͇̠̈͒ wont go away.. Please helPe,a,sjml)HELP#:-‘sh”
It turned into gibberish in the end, but I decided not to think about it for too long. Soon enough, it hit me. {who was I??} I started panicking. {WHERE AM I?} It all got to me at once, that I couldn't remember anything about myself. But then I decided I shouldn’t let it get to me so that I could focus on getting back on track. I seemed to be at a cliff leading down to a deeper part of the cave that went through three different floors. I was glad I hadn't fallen into the deeper part when I woke up, as I would've gotten seriously injured from the fall. I tried to find a way out, but there was only one tunnel that didn’t go down, so that’s the one I had to take. I got to the top of the tunnel finally, but then I felt a burning fire across all of my body. I looked down only to see my entire body was set ablaze! I quickly made it back into the safety of the cave’s shade. I rummaged through some old boxes and crates that were in the mines, climbed my way back up, and headed out into the unpredictably dangerous outer world.
4 - Finding myselfOnce I made it out of the cave, I found myself in a hollowed out tree stump. Luckily, there were signs pointing to where you could go. There was a city sign pointing to a mall that would most likely have clothes I could change into, so I went through the tunnel leading to a giant indoors shopping mall. It was raining, so I put away my umbrella. Once I had found some cosmetics I liked, I wandered around and found a ramp leading to a second floor. I was looking out the giant window, but that's when someone behind me had pushed me through a cracked open part of the glass! I of course started falling from the window, and braced myself for impact but thats when..
I was flying! I didn’t know how, but I wasn't falling. I looked back, and the girl behind the glass had a shocked look on her face. “VAMPIRE!” She screeched at the top of her lungs. People started to look my way, and fast. Since I apparently had bat wings, shocked reactions started yelling and shouting at me to back away, so I did. I ran back through the tunnel and as far away as I could manage. I found myself with an umbrella out at a beach. That's when it hit me, my home.. The crew ship. I was Tacabella, I failed to slay the beast, and i.. I was free! I had to act fast though as the boat was pulling into a dock near the area I was in. I tried to sneak around it, but soon enough someone spotted me and brought me into the ship. Since they knew I had escaped, even if it was by accident, they put me in a prison cell with an industrial chain strapped onto a small boulder on one side and my leg on the other. I freaked out, this couldn’t be the end, trapped in a cage where I'll spend the rest of my days eating half cooked fish? This was worse than how it had started!
5 - The purge
TW: gore
Once I had stopped panicking, I tried to think. {What could i do to get out of here?} But that's when I remembered, I’m a vampire now! It still took a few days, but I had chewed a small hole in the ceiling above my cage with my new sharp teeth that was big enough for me to crawl out of. Once I had, I looked through all the other prisoners from the ceiling. I had only Searched through half of the cages and found nobody I knew, but I couldn't waste too much time on this, so I headed over to the lobby of the ship while crawling on the ceiling so I was out of sight. Once I had made it to the lunch room, all the anger that was suppressed deep inside me before had bursted out at once. I dropped off the ceiling, shocking some and angering others. I tried to hold back but I couldn't control myself anymore. I started tearing through the crewmates until there was nothing left, Tears in my eye. I burst out into tears, finally being able to release the emotions held inside me all along, it was all gone. There was only one left I needed to get back at. I didn’t even care to stay out of sight in the end, I felt as if my blood was boiling at the thought of the captain not being punished for his cruel actions of abuse towards us slaves. I made my way to his room, until I was at the door. I opened it slowly to see if he was inside, sure enough he was. I lunged at him, using all of the force within me to tear him to shreds, my sharp teeth ripping apart his skin. Finally, I could get back at all of the people who hurt me. I had finished my business. I figured I should leave soon enough, but not before I found someone. I searched the entire ship before flying back to the cells. That’s when i found him. He was in the corner of a cell, head in his hands with days scratched onto the walls counting up to about 2763 marks. That obviously wasn’t accurate, but you do start to go crazy when trapped in a cell. I finally decided to speak to get his attention. “Battobarny its-“ I tried before he cut me off. “Taica!” I smiled at the sound of his voice. “I'm so glad your okay battobarny, I-“ i tried to continue before he interrupted again with a question. “Why were there screams? What happened? Why is there.. blood on you?” He asked. I started to panic not knowing what to say to him to make him understand what i had just been through. My mind raced on what to do and I started freaking out about the possibility of our friendship being broken over this, I couldn't handle the guilt of what had just happened.. Before I could stop myself I had broken into the cage and bitten him. He was unconscious, I could leave but I stepped back in disbelief of what I had just done. {Had I really just bit him? Will he also be a vampire now?} my mind raced, but it was just too much. I left the cage unlocked, dragged Battobarny out of the ship, and sank it. After that, I had slept in the cave I woke up in, crying myself to sleep for a good while.6 - W̷̺̰̣͛̀ȏ̷͉̬̈́̉̃̚͝͠n̷̲̱͗͋̓̇͗̿t̸̪̙̺̼̉̓͠ ̵̮͔̰̈́̇̀̕͠w̸̨͚̝͈̻͂̚ͅơ̵̢̟̺͚̦̓ŗ̶̧͕͍̠͍͌͊̈́̋k̶̡̦͚͉͋̋͒͑̚͝.̵̞̄̓̊̃̆.̵̹̟̟̭̭̬͋͘͜After I had left the caves once again, I went to stay in the clouds. There were houses up above the clouds and a giant beanstalk. It was a very nice place to stay when I stayed there. I was able to calm myself about what had happened, and feel more positive when thinking about it. Although I was able to feel better about it, it doesn’t mean it didn’t happen though, so I still got gut wrenching thoughts about it afterwards. My new life in the clouds was nice, until the day the storms started and it reeked havoc upon the community there. Tornados and heavy winds paired with often hailing had destroyed most of the area and caused a major evacuation, but some of us including me had been stranded there while the storms continued. But finally, a rescue team had removed the debris from the exits and we had started to rebuild our lost community. The weather was a lot better than it was before, and the travel systems were more efficient after they rebuilt it. This was good news, but it was no use. I had to return and apologize to Battobarny, I had to find him and make sure he’s ok, and I NEED to make sure he’s able to be on his own! But let's not get ahead of ourselves again, I should really calm down before I do anything. After the clouds were rebuilt, I made my way back to the city. Inconveniently though, the people there didn’t forget about the last time. They were relieved to see a chain on my leg, but still shouted at me. This time, they had brought onion spray and wooden stakes. They were cornering me, and I thought it would be over, But then.. Somebody with a long cloak came up and pulled me away from the crowd. I could swear I recognized the cloak, but I couldn’t put my finger on it. Once he took me into a basement in an alleyway, he took off his hood. I couldn’t recognize them at first, but then, “It's me, Battobarny. I know that I look.. different.. but I promise it’s me.” I stared at him with relief for a few seconds before hugging him, I held on tight. I couldn’t explain with words how relieved I was to see him safe. “I'm so happy you're safe.. I can't explain how relieved I am to see you Battobarny.” I said. “One question though, do you know why I look more like a vampire than you? I studied books about vampires when I could, but I couldn't find anything.” he asked. “I'm not sure, But it might have been because when i was bitten, I didn’t feel the teeth go too deep into my skin, but since the moment was tense and I might have bitten you harder because of that, you could have had more venom or whatever turns people into vampires in you.” I replied.7 - Early journey
(VILOTAIL NOT MY OC)
Had it really come down to this? I didn’t know what we should do, since I knew that he was safe and he knew that so was I, but I still had a nagging thought that we needed to do something. Battobarny had said he rescued a cat and brought it home, and that it was also different, being bright purple. He said he had named it Vilotail, or for short Vilo. We went back to the cave the next day, and I felt content for the first time in a while. Everyone I cared about was safe, and I really had nothing to do. I started befriending bats that I found in the cave, learning the language that they spoke. Soon enough, visiting cave after cave it seemed I had my own bat colony, a community even. Soon enough, years passed and we had a colony made up of not only bats, but other vampires. It felt weird to have a sense of control, as i never really had anything else like it.
8 - some sense of satisfactionAfter a while, I got used to being in control. I was happy with my life, and I wanted nothing to change. Although, I had also accepted that it would change. It felt nice to experience these feelings, like satisfactory for the first time before they became casual parts of my life. Ah, the good old days. I wish I could experience those again. Anyways, let’s get back on track, as we’ve barely scratched the surface. One day, I was walking through the cave on just a casual occasion, admiring the shining crystals. Thats when I saw a hoard of vampires together blabbering and gossiping, so I asked what was going on. “We found this at your favorite crystal! We didn’t see you in the morning when you usually go on walks, so we got it for you.” Everyone was still chattering, so i couldn’t understand them very well. “Gimme that!” Someone said as they snatched the note to give it to me. Once I had it, I was shocked to read what was inside. “Meet at the crystal tavern tonight, 8:00 AM for dinner -your secret admirer” was written on the inside of a shining crystal, it being red. My favorite color, that only one person had known me long enough to know about.9 - the night it startedBattobarny. I cut my walk short to think about what had just happened. Battobarny. The only one who knew me this well. Battobarny, Battobarny, Battobarny. All i could think about until it was already 8:00 AM. I wasn’t ready, and didn’t have time to get ready, so I Put On a fancy dress, Covered myself with jewelry made from the shiniest crystals, and was on my way. I was so nervous! What if it’s not Battobarny? What if nobody shows up? What if it was all a long, mean, prank? I anxiously waited at the crystal tavern, the fanciest restaurant in the cave system down in forest. I finally saw him walking towards the restaurant with a bouquet after the longest thirty minutes of my life. I was relieved to see that it was indeed Battobarny, and for a fact was not a prank. The bouquet was made of shimmering red crystals and minerals of beauty, shining in the light as he neared the table I was sitting at. We greeted each other once he sat down, and spent an awkward moment staring at each other, admiring the other’s outfit. My dress was shiny and red, like the crystals he had gotten me. Meanwhile, his suit was a royal blue with a shining blue crystal in the place of a flower. “You look.. “ i tried as I immediately regretted it, at a loss for words. “You look stunning.” I had finally found the courage to say it, the o5er vampires in the restaurant beginning to take notice of our presence.NOT FINISHED!
Mores coming soon, i promise 😭
